Newly inspired to incorporate environmental activism beyond the concept and into the process of my art, I decided to mimic Anna Atkins photographic work by walking the beachline of the nearby coast. Not collecting algae and seaweed specimens, but waste ones. Utilizing cyanotype like Anna to catalog my found trash, I hope to show how the contents of our oceans and our coastlines have changed in the last 200 years.
