My first foray into painting, I wanted to play off the flat canvas, Abstract Expressionist style and clash that against the impasto, in-the-moment Impressionist ways which came earlier, along with an Expressionist take on a natural phenomenon. Combining these three movements to create a personal, reflective, but actioned series.Through these canvases I hope one can see new similarities in styles as well as view a common scene all humans have experienced frozen for elongated introspection.
Each piece is named after water I have lived near, and the feelings that it gave me are reflected in the painting. They are meant to be displayed with no correct orientation.
